 States share Aboriginal tourism expertise
6/3/09
Indigenous tourism specialists from the State Tourism Organisations and Tourism Australia met in Sydney recently to discuss the development and marketing of Aboriginal tourism products.
Tourism NSW hosted the group on the Royal Botanic Gardens Aboriginal Heritage Tour conducted by Aboriginal Education Officer, Clarence Slockee. The tour explains the use of native plants by local Aboriginal people for bush foods or medicines. It is popular with visitors to the Gardens and inbound groups.
The meeting allowed an exchange of ideas about product development to assist the specialists in providing advice to Aboriginal tourism operators.
