 National Indigenous Tourism Product Manual
The National Indigenous Tourism Product Manual has been developed by Indigenous Tourism Australia with the assistance of the State and Territory Tourism Organisations (STOs) to give Indigenous tourism operators the opportunity to showcase their products and experiences.
The aim of the manual is to allow the International tourism trade, such as Inbound tourism operators (ITOs) and wholesalers, to better understand the Indigenous tourism sector and to identify "export ready" as well as "market ready" Indigenous tourism products. Also, the manual assists in raising the profile of Australian Indigenous operators by increasing the awareness of available Indigenous experiences within Australia.
The manual features both "market ready" and "export ready" tourism operators from across Australia which are either partially or fully Indigenous owned and/or operated. The operators have been identified using a Characteristic Key, which is a set of characteristics acting as a guide to the level of maturity, development and experience an "export ready" or "market ready" Indigenous tourism product would have.
The Characteristics are detailed in the introduction of the Product Manual. Each Indigenous tourism product profile includes a brief description of the product, the specific key experiences available, hours/days of operation, length of operation, memberships and accreditation, and contact details including website.
